What You Need to Know about Crime in Arkansas
Arkansas is one of the United States’ southern states. The most populous as well as the capital city of the said state is called Little Rock. The city of Little Rock is found at the central part of Arkansas. The following races or ethnicities (the five largest) make up Arkansas: American, African American, Irish, German, and English.
It is a fact that Arkansas attracts a lot of visitors because of the many things to do and places to visit in the said state. If you love outdoor adventures then you will surely love Arkansas’ caverns and waterfalls. Artists will also enjoy spending time in Arkansas’ great galleries and those who are inclined to sports will want to go to sporting events. If you would want to move permanently to Arkansas, you could do so but it is very important first to know not only about the scenic spots in Arkansas, but also about crime and safety in the said state.
Out of all the cities in Arkansas, its capital city Little Rock has the highest violent crime rate. The top crime committed in Little Rock is theft, followed by burglary, which are normally committed in the person’s home. Before moving into Arkansas or if you are currently in Arkansas, specifically Little Rock, you have to know what to do in order to protect yourself and your family from crime, especially from theft and burglary. It is better to be safe than sorry so read on below about tips on how to protect your home and your family from theft/burglary:
Mark your property by using laser pens, UV pens, etc. This is for you to identify your property once it is recovered and for the thieves not to be able to sell it easily in the black market. Burglars normally study the people they are planning to rob first so if they know that all your properties are marked, they might have second thoughts.
Installing a home security system is also said to be very effective. If a burglar tries to break in or to rob your home and sees that a home security system is set up, then more often than not, that burglar will back off. Now even if he still robs your home, when you have a surveillance camera in place, his actions will be caught on tape and the police will find it easier to identify and catch that criminal.
Burglar alarms are also effective in preventing robbers to continue with their plans of breaking into and robbing your home. Police officers will even tell you that about 50% of attempted robberies are prevented by alarms.
