Hawaii
“The search for static security - in the law and elsewhere - is misguided. The fact is security can only be achieved through constant change, adapting old ideas that have outlived their usefulness to current facts.”
- William Osle
There are a lot of things that are noteworthy about the state of Hawaii. A lot of them remains unknown to non-residents. This is your chance to get to know Hawaii more. I bet you have no idea that… The state of Hawaii is the most detached population in the world, it is composed of eight main islands: Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe and the Big Island of Hawaii. The Hawaiian Archipelago has over 130 sprinkled points of land measuring 1,600 miles in length beginning from the Kure Atoll in the north until the Island of Hawaii in the south. It is the sole state that grows coffee and over one-third of the world’s pineapple supply originates from it. The State of Hawaii covers almost the whole of the volcanic Hawaiian Island chain, composed of hundreds of islands spread over 1,500 miles (2,400 km). Did you know that Hawaii is the sole state that is not physically located in North America? That it has a majestic palace? That its area is still constantly growing due to active lava flows? Bet you didn’t know that. Hawaii is a place full of surprises and well, it doesn’t hurt to explore them. But just like other states, Hawaii still experiences a few glitches, especially with regard to peace and order.
In 2000 Hawaii’s population was 1,211,537 earning them the 42nd spot in the list of populated states. In the same year, the State of Hawaii’s total Crime Index is 5,198.9 reported incidents per 100,000 people. Unfortunately, this made them the 6th state in the “highest total Crime Index” list. Their ranking’s a lot lower in the Violent Crimes area because they are 43rd. The numbers are not in favor of Hawaii again with regard to Vehicle Theft, ranked as the 8th highest state-wise.
This is why there is a constant need to be protected. One must employ all possible means to protect not only him / herself but also his / her properties. It’s a right recognized by the Constitution and the best person to implement such right is the owner himself. How? Install the right car alarms, upgrade your personal security. After all, you wouldn’t want things to be too easy for these criminals right?
