This thus earned the state its rank of having the 20th highest total Crime Index amongst all the states. For crimes against Property, the state’s recorded incident rate is 3,629.4 for every 100,000 people. With regard to Robbery, Illinois has a rate of 207.4 for every 100,000 people, its rank is quite alarming because it’s ranked 4th highest compared to all the other states. Vehicle Theft, on the other hand, happened 452.1 times for each 100,000 people, thus making Illinois as the 12th highest for vehicle theft. The most stolen vehicles in Illinois are: 1991 Toyota Camry, 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass, 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier, 1992 Chevrolet Van, 1989 Chevrolet Caprice, 1993 Ford Taurus, 1990 Buick LeSabre, 1994 Dodge Caravan, 2004 Pontiac Grand Am, and 2000 Dodge Intrepid.
