Louisiana
I’m sure almost everyone is familiar of the Mardi Gras. It is a celebration of food and fun right before the Lenten season. Which state religiously celebrates it? It’s none other than one of the most fun-loving states, Louisiana. Need another evidence of Louisiana’s being quite a uniquely charactered state? There’s a law in this state that says, biting someone with your natural teeth is simple assault, but biting someone with your false teeth is an aggravated assault. You heard it right and it’s only in Louisiana. But Louisiana also means business. Did you know that the first site of oil drilling over water in the whole world happened in the northwest of Louisiana, in Caddo Lake? The oil and gas industry became the State’s main driving economic force. When oil and gas had quite high value in the Markey back in the 1970s, Louisiana's economy logically experienced economic growth. Similarly, when the oil and gas crash happened in the 1980s, Louisiana’s economy fell quickly in value.
In 2000, Louisiana’s population was approximately 4,468,976 thus ranking 22nd amongst all. Moreover, State of Louisiana’s total Crime Index was 5,422.8 reported incidents for every 100,000 people. For such, Louisiana has 4th highest total Crime Index. With regard to Robbery, Louisiana’s ranked the state 8th highest. Vehicle Theft happened 475.9 times for 100,000 people, thus making it top 10 in the list. The vehicles who made it in the top ten of most stolen cars are: 2003 Dodge Ram Pickup, 1994 Chevrolet Full Size C/K 1500 Pickup, 2001 Ford F150 Series, 1995 Honda Accord, 2003 Dodge Caravan, 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass, 2000 Dodge Intrepid, 1998 Jeep Cherokee/Grand Cherokee,1991 Toyota Camry and the1997 Ford Taurus.
These rates are less than impressive. Therefore, it may be said that security must be ensured not only by the government but the individuals living in Louisiana. Thomas Drummond once said that, ““Property has its duties as well as its rights.” It is every individual’s duty to not only be vigilant but to as much as possible be sufficiently equipped in protecting his / her possessions. Thieves must not be tolerated and more importantly, instead of being feared should be countered with the right mindset. There is something you can do about it. You can make life a little safer, a little more secure. Utilize your resources; get the most appropriate and most reliable car and security system for you. It’s not an added expense, it’s an added assurance.
