Minnesota Home Security Systems
Minnesota is a state in the Midwestern part of US which is known to be as the Land of 10, 000 Lakes. This could be seen clearly by the numerous lakes in the state which also serve as recreational sites for the people and tourists. Also, Minnesota’s name was obtained from the Dakota word Mnisota which means water, particularly semi clear water.
Minnesota, the 12th largest state in terms of area, homes about five million residents at present. Most of its population resides in the Twin Cities, the metropolitan area which is considered as the core and heart of transportation, industry, as well as business and arts. Furthermore, Minnesota is also considered as one of the healthiest and most literate state among the states of US and has produced many triumphant people in the world of industry.
By the year 2000, the population of Minnesota has reached almost five million, ranking it as the 21st highest among the areas of the United States. However, it is also ranked as the 32nd highest when it comes to crime index. For that same year, Minnesota ranked 38th highest for violent crimes, 31st highest for the crimes against property, 42nd highest for the aggravated assaults, 35th highest for the vehicle theft and 35th highest for murder among the states of US for per hundred thousand residents of Minnesota.
Nonetheless, Minnesota has maintained to level their crime rate as low as possible, particularly the number of burglaries on the state which lie below the national average. However, from the statistics, much could be seen that due to the heightening population of the state, crimes in the state tend to increase as well. In fact, if we would compare the crime index statistics from the year 2000 to 2006, we could see that with a population increase of 247, 622, violent crimes also increased by 2,310, crimes against property by 1,321, robbery by 1,720, aggravated assaults by 1,211 and burglaries by 4,057 per hundred thousand people. On the other hand, crimes such as murder decreased by 26, forced rape by 595 and vehicle theft by 53 per 100, 000 residents.
And so, the security system of Minnesota has developed security measures to prevent the crime rate of the state from increasing. This could be seen from the various preventive and safety measures which include alarms, sensors, lock, and bolt, as well as outside and patio lights for every Minnesota homes.
