Migration is a big part of the increase, as well as the natural increase in birthrate. The center of population is situated in Shelby City, particularly the Polk Country.
Just like any other state, Nebraska also experiences national and local problems. One of which is the crime rate of the state. To breakdown, the violent crimes reported was 3, 767.9 or the 20th highest, murder was 3.7 or the 28th highest, forced rapes was 25.5 or the 39th highest and robbery was 67 or the 39th highest for every hundred thousand people among the states of US.
It was also been reported that the number of crimes against property increased by 6% just in 2001. All of the other crimes increased by 15 % as well except for the number of burglaries which decreased by 3% in that same year. These data are reported by the Nebraska Commission on Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice.
In lieu of these statistics, the Nebraska security services are implementing measures to fight against the crimes of the state. Greater home and car securities are put into practice to prevent the increase of the crimes such as property crimes, vehicle theft, as well as burglaries.
