Nebraska Home Security Systems
Nebraska is known to be as the Cornhusker State of US. It is located at the Midwestern part of the United States and was considered before as a part of the Great American Dessert. Its name was derived from the Platte River which flows through it. At present, the state is known for its farms and ranches.
With a total area of 77, 421 miles, Nebraska ranked 16th highest among the US states. Its capital is Lincoln while its largest city is Omaha. As of 2007, the estimated population of the state has reached 1,774,571 with a 0.6 percent increase from the previous year. Migration is a big part of the increase, as well as the natural increase in birthrate. The center of population is situated in Shelby City, particularly the Polk Country.
Just like any other state, Nebraska also experiences national and local problems. One of which is the crime rate of the state. For the year 2000, Nebraska was ranked 25th highest among the states of US with the highest crime index. To breakdown, the violent crimes reported was 3, 767.9 or the 20th highest, murder was 3.7 or the 28th highest, forced rapes was 25.5 or the 39th highest and robbery was 67 or the 39th highest for every hundred thousand people among the states of US.
It was also been reported that the number of crimes against property increased by 6% just in 2001. All of the other crimes increased by 15 % as well except for the number of burglaries which decreased by 3% in that same year. These data are reported by the Nebraska Commission on Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice.
In lieu of these statistics, the Nebraska security services are implementing measures to fight against the crimes of the state. Greater home and car securities are put into practice to prevent the increase of the crimes such as property crimes, vehicle theft, as well as burglaries. Included in these home securities are alarms and sensors to detect thieves intruding the homes of the Nebraskans. Improved locks and bolts on the gates and walls, as well as centralized lighting is also encouraged by the Nebraska security system to alleviate the crime on the state.
Crime is a serious matter in any state, in any country, in any place. That’s why it is of doubt why the state of Nebraska focuses on it more than ever.
