New York Home Security Systems

New York is the third state that has the most number of people in the United States. It is located in the Mid –Atlantic and Northeastern regions of the country. Bordering New York are the states of Vermont, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. It has also a part in the water border of Rhode Island and the Canadian provinces of Quebec and Ontario.

Also known as a gateway for immigration to the United States, New York City is the largest city and state in US. Its name was taken from James Stuart, the 17th century Duke of York, England and Scotland’s future James II and VII.

By the time French and Dutch Nationals went to New York in the 17th century, the Algonquin, Iroquois and Lenape Native American dwellers lived in it. In 1609, Henry Hudson first claimed New York and in 1624, Dutch conquered the state. Some revolutionary wars happened in New York. The state got its independence on July 9, 1776. It is now the 11th state of the United States. Nowadays, foreigners choose to go to New York for vacation and site seeing.

Due to the tourism that it leads to California and Florida, it is expected that the security in this place is well established. However, because lots of people are living in the state, it is hard to maintain the security in the whole state.

The state ranked 3rd in the number of population in United States in the year 2000. The total of crime index that was then released in the state reached 3,099.6 in every 100,000 people. When it comes to the highest rate of Crime Index, they are the 40th among different states. The incidents of vehicle theft and robbery are of high percentage too.

In the incidents of car burglary in the place, the type five vehicles that are subjected to it are the 1990 Toyota Camry, 1992 Honda Accord, 1993 Honda Civic, 1994 Dodge Caravan, and 1997 Nissan Maxima.

Albany, which is the capital of New York State, has a record of 1,275 violent crimes which is higher compared to the record in 2004. On the other hand, compared to the crime statistics of New York in 2005, the crime rate in 2006 is slowly diminishing. This shows the improvement on the security over the place.
