Oregon Home Security Systems
Located in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States, Oregon was admitted to the Union on February 14, 1859. It is the 33rd state of US. But before it became part of the United States, Oregon was included in the Oregon Territory. After the American settlement in 1848, the Oregon Territory was made. Oregon is located on the Pacific coast that lies between Washington on the north and Nevada and California on the south. In the east part of it is Idaho. Its northern and eastern boundaries were formed by the Columbia and Snake rivers. Oregon has the state named Salem which has the third largest population while Portland has the largest number of people. .
Thickly populated is the valley of the Willamette River, located in western Oregon. They are gaining progress agriculturally and they have the 8 out of 10 of the most populated cities in US. There was a 20.3 percent increase in population from 1990 to the year 2000 which reached 3.5 million people. They estimated the number of population to be 3.7 million in 2006. Intel, which can be found in the Silicon Forest area in Portland’s western suburbs, is the biggest company to employ lots of people. There are 500 Nike Company in the state and there are also public school districts which reached 199. The largest public school in the state is the Portland Public High school. In the Oregon University System, there are 17 community and 7 publicly financed colleges. Affiliated with the system is the Oregon Health which is the state’s one and only medical university. The flagship universities of the state are the University of Oregon in Eugene and the Oregon State University. Many people enroll in Portland State University. On the other hand, the oldest college in Oregon is the Willamette University.
Security alarms in schools, hospitals, and different establishments are distributed all over the state to protect the people from danger. However, they were in the 11th rank in crime Index among the US states. It is also recently recorded in 2006 that the violent crimes which include murder, forcible rape and assault reached 280. 645 cases of burglary were also on the list and 39 vehicle thefts have also been stated. It is not enough that the government just provides security alarms but it can help a lot. On the other hand, the crime rate is not that bad because it highly diminished compared to the 2005 crime index rate.
