Virginia Home Security Systems
A state lying in the Southern United States, Virginia was the site of some of the most important events in American history. The first permanent English settlement in America was made at Jamestown in 1607. Great battles of the American Revolution and the American Civil War were fought in Virginia. Virginia has been called Mother of Presidents because the eight U.S. presidents were born there. Virginia attracts tourists to its battlefields, famous old churches, colonial homes, and other historic sites. Many also go there to see Virginia’s beautiful scenery. Richmond is the capital of Virginia.
When it comes to the state’s economic status, its industries employ about three-fourths of Virginia’s workers. Important activities within the service industries include education, government, healthcare, and trade. The federal government employs many people in northeastern Virginia, an area that lies next to the United States national capital, Washington, D.C. Virginia also has several huge military bases but even if this is the case, the government of the state still cannot deny the fact that they cannot totally exterminate the prevalence of crimes in the different areas of the state. Even the eight presidents who came from this state were not able exterminate totally the crimes that are happening.
The last updated statistics regarding the total population of the state was last 2006 with about 7,642,88 individuals. Statistics also show much is the prevalence of crimes all over the state with a total Crime Index Rate of 2,760 per 100,000 people. This record is already the lowest count for ten years already since the year 1996. Violent Crime rate indicates a total of 282 incidents per 100,000 people and the Property Crime rate indicates a total of 2,478 incidents per 100,000 people. For further emphasis on the area of Violent Crime rate, it is divisible into 4 types: 5 Murder incidents, 23 Forced Rape incidents, 101 Robbery incidents, and 152 Aggravated assault incidents. To further explain the area of Property Crime rate, it is divisible into 3 types: 418 Burglary incidents, 1,856 Larceny Theft incidents, and Vehicle Theft incidents. All incidents that are mentioned are per 100,000 people.
Even though the year 2006 has already been the lowest count for ten years, it may be a good start sign especially if the decrease becomes a trend annually and a large decrease happens. There are still so many things for the government and the residents of Virginia can think of accomplishing to avoid such examples of crimes, whether they are big or small.
