Wireless Home Security System vs Wired Home Security System

Due to the increasing number of people opting for illegal ways to survive, technology has been offering us with an increasing number of tools that can help ourselves keep safe from the said people. For one, home security systems have been widely available in various brands and features that we have a lot to choose from when deciding what the best home security system for our houses is. One of the things that you have to decide on is using a wireless home security system or a wired system. Each has their own disadvantages and advantages but the main thing that you should consider when deciding which is which is your lifestyle.

For one, wired systems should be used if you are permanently living on a particular place without future plans of moving out. Since installation of such systems can be quite complicated because of the different wirings and a series of connections important to allow the tool to function properly. A good thing about wired systems is that they don’t need batteries to function. They function because of electricity and that is one less hassle for you. Battery changing of wireless home security systems can be quite stressful and definitely not cost effective. This would also ensure that your home alarm systems is more reliable and because the detector and the receiver are connected with a wire, false alarms are definitely fewer.

On the other hand, using a wireless home security system is advisable if you are the type of person who always transfers from one home to another. If you like to move and do not actually see yourself in a permanent place in the future, a wireless home security system is good for you. This is because they are easily moved, easy to carry or portable. The only thing that is wired in such system is the main unit consisting of the keypad and the receiver. Aside from the fact that it is easy to move, wireless home security systems are also easy to install. With the many sites available that can help you with the installation of such systems, plus the manual given by the service provider, you are sure not to get lost. Also, wireless home security systems lack the series of wires and connections that are essential in a wired system. This also makes the wireless home security system uncomplicated.

However, the major problem about wireless home security systems is that they need batteries to function. Once the batteries becomes low in power, the alarms can go off which can be quite a hassle. Battery changing as mentioned is also not hassle free especially since a technician is responsible for the changing process. Another thing is that wireless home security systems can give a lot of false alarms which aside from low battery may be caused by the miscommunication between the receiver and the detector. Waking up at night because the alarm went off due to your dog or cats is not really nice.

Generally, wired and wireless home security systems are unique in their own way but both aim to provide you with the safety and security that you wish to have in your homes.
