home system security cameras lights

Nothing says “summer” like a day in the pool. And there is one thing better than owning your own home pool and that is not owning it but having access to one! I love that my in laws have a pool. I don’t have to deal with the expense or time of cleaning and maintaining it, but I get to enjoy it whenever I want. It is especially helpful when the kids are going stir crazy in the house and need to blow off extra energy. Having a pool also adds to the fear of being liable if something were to go wrong and someone got hurt or killed in the pool. It was this fear that caused my father in law to install home security system cameras and lights around the pool area to prevent kids from entering the pool without permission. Even though a fence with locked gates were installed around the pool, they wanted to make extra sure that no one could sneak in…or if they did, it wouldn’t go unnoticed.

After our last visit, I owe those home security system cameras a huge dose of gratitude because they saved my son’s life. My four year old son is an adventurous soul that never seems to tire. That is why we went to visit grandma’s house, hoping that a day in the sun and water would wear him out and give the “grown ups” time to chat. That night it seemed to work and I laid him down to sleep in the guest room while we sat in the living room talking. I never heard him get up or slide open the patio door to the pool area. We didn’t realize anything was wrong until all at once the lights around the pool suddenly came on and the home security system monitor on the desk in the room awoken by the home security system cameras’ sensors turning them on. I looked over to the screen and there was my son gathering pool toys and throwing them in. My husband says it took only four seconds for me to get out there and grab him before he jumped into the pool with the toys.

I am so thankful for the home security system, especially those home security system cameras because without them, I would have had no way of knowing my son was in danger. I had no idea earlier that day he learned how to unlock the sliding patio door. As we were leaving the next day, I notice my father in law installing an extra locking device to the patio door that should be child proof…at least for the next five years.
